About the Island
A jewel among islands, set in the clear blue sea, within sight of the picturesque mountain Pelion. Skiathos is located in the north-west part of the Aegean Sea. Along with Skopelos and Alonissos, Skiathos completes the complex of the Sporades islands. Even though Skiathos is the smallest in this complex (48 km2), it is the only one with an international airport and that makes it easily accessible. Skiathos is only 41 nautical miles away from the port of Volos (mainland) and 44 nautical miles from the port Agios Konstantinos which connects the island with Athens, the Greek capital.
Skiathos is an enchanting corner of Greece, a masterpiece of nature, full of olive-trees, pines, fennel and thyme, an attracting pole for all kind of visitors. A number of marvelous beaches such as Lalaria with Tripia Petra, a rare beach site with an impressive white rock emerging from the sea, numerous old style monasteries, and little white chapels. The most famous spot of the island is Koukounaries, one of the best beaches in Europe.

Access to Skiathos
There are several ways to reach Skiathos island such as:
By airplane
- International charter flights from major European cities.
- Flights from Athens and Thessaloniki (40 minutes)

By boat or hydrofoil
- Port of Agios Konstantinos (170 km from Athens) Crossing time: 1 ½ hour by hydrofoil, 2 ½ hours by boat
- Port of Volos (306 km from Athens, 216 km from Thessaloniki) Crossing time: 1 ½ hour by hydrofoil, 2 ½ hours by boat
- Port of Thessaloniki Crossing time: 3 hours by hydrofoil, 7 hours by boat
By ferry (Athens-Mantoudi-Skiathos)

Commuting from the Airport to Skiathos Palace
For your transportation to the hotel from the airport, there are the following options: 1) Private transfer offered from the hotel (but you should arrange it with the hotel and pay for it). 2) By taxi (you can find more information here) 3) If they arrive with the Olypmic Air with the afternoon flight (from Athens to Skiathos) there is a bus provided from the hotel. 4) Rent a car (See the section above)
